ME HA PICADO Un Ciempiés - ¿Los Ciempiés Son Venenosos? ¿Qué Deberías Ha...
SANTO DOMINGO. The centipede is an insect that can be found anywhere and there are over 3 thousand species all over the world. They are carnivores and to capture prey have a few apprentices mouth developed that secrete poison.

The bite of a centipede is often painful, cause swelling and redness, localized to the site of the bite, and does not cause significant damage, explains dr. Arnalda Pauline, though warns that people who suffer from allergies to insects can present severe reactions.

“On occasion, I attended a 14-year-old who had been bitten by a centipede in an area of the leg and as she was allergic to the insect bite, had a severe allergy in a large part of the leg,” he says.

The specialist advised to go to the doctor even if the affected it creates that does not suffer from insect allergies, as sometimes the reactions after a bite may take time to appear.

The symptoms may be runny, allergy, itching and hives around the area of the body, points to the doctor.

If the person makes a severe reaction to the bite, the signs can be: box, lymphatic, breathing problems, nausea, or severe swelling.

Pauline suggests to treat the bite by washing with soap and water, placing cool compresses on the affected area, do not medicate on your own and visit a doctor.

Among the suggestions to keep away these unwanted guests are: fumigate the home, and to seal frames of windows, doors and cracks in the floors or around the home that can easily enable their input, and to dry any area of the home that may retain moisture, because centipedes love to dwell in moist places.
